William Hill make Luka Modric 8/15 to leave Tottenham this summer, despite chairman Daniel Levy vowing that he will not allow the Croatian to quit the club.
Chelsea are believed to have increased their original bid of £22 million to £25 million, however, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has promised Modric that the team does have ambition to keep up with the big four.
Across north London Cesc Fabregas’ odds to join boyhood team Barcelona have gone down to 8/13 from 4/6 with William Hill, and 6/5 to remain at the Emirates next season.
Fabregas is said to have grown frustrated with the lack of silverware at Arsenal and says Barcelona can guarantee trophies.
Chelsea have set a deadline for next week to decide on their next manager after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked at the end of last season.
Guus Hiddink is the 1/4 favourite, with Mark Hughes second favourite at 7/2 with William Hill. Porto’s Villas-Boas has been cut from 8/1 to 9/2 while Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has dropped to 10/1. Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola is an outsider at 20/1.
Following Alex McLeish’s controversial move to Birmingham rivals Aston Villa last week, the Blues are looking to act quickly.
Former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton is 1/2 favourite to take over at St Andrews. William Hill make Roberto Di Matteo a close second at 9/4, with Billy Davies 8/1, Alan Shearer 9/1 and Gianfranco Zola 11/1.
