Abuja — The lingering crisis rocking Nigerian football may soon be over if words of Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) Alhaji Ahmed Sani Toro is anything to go by.
Toro, who is one of the former Secretaries General that attended the meeting with the National Sports Commission (NSC), told journalists after the meeting that he was optimistic that the crises would be effectively addressed.
He said that having met with members of the board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), they will also been meeting with other aggrieved stakeholders in Nigerian football including the president of the National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF), Harrison Jalla, former captain of the Green Eagles, Segun Odegbami and members of the parallel board of the NFA led by Jaaret Tenebe.
“We are making progress, and we want to meet with the other stakeholders including Jalla, Odegbami and the other groups, it is our hope that at the end of the day we will find a lasting solution to this crisis”.
Toro further revealed that they deliberated on so many matters that bother in Nigerians football, adding that if need be they will be ready to stay for a few more days to ensure that they achieved the desired result.
The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Patrick Ekeji who declared the meeting open later took his leave for the meeting to continue with the former Secretaries General and the board members.
