Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has made his second signing of the summer after the club confirmed the signing of Demba Ba from West Ham.
The striker follows Yohan Cabaye to Tyneside and has signed a three-year-deal at St James’ Park.
Ba made 12 appearances for the Hammers last season, scoring seven goals in the process and has also earned 10 caps for Senegal.
The 26-year-old has had spells with Rouen, Mouscron and Hoffenheim and joins the Magpies as their No. 19.
His new manager, Pardew, told the club’s official website: “Demba made a great impression with West Ham last season and is a great signing for this club.
“He has pace, excellent technical ability, is good in the air and, it goes without sayin, has the ability to consistently find the back of the net.
“Moreover he has the great passion to play for Newcastle United.”
