Chairmen of the Football Associations of States in the South-West region of the country on Tuesday expressed their implicit and explicit confidence in the NFF Executive Committee led by Alhaji Aminu Maigari, and said they shared in the vision and mission of the Committee to lift Nigeria football to excellent heights.
The forum equally made it known that it will only attend a General Assembly or Extra-ordinary General Assembly called by the Maigari-led Executive Committee.
Coordinator of the zone, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, who is the Chairman of the Osun State Football Association, said at the end of a meeting of the State FA chairmen in the zone on Tuesday: “We don’t believe there is crisis in Nigerian football. Whatever irritation is on at the moment is just make-believe, being painted by some disgruntled elements in the society. As far as we are concerned, the 2010 NFF Statutes remains our Bible and we will continue to obey and operate in line with the Statutes that govern administration of football in Nigeria.
“We can only attend Congress/General Assembly that is duly convened by the Alhaji Aminu Maigari-led Executive Committee”.
State FA Chairmen in the South-West zone are: Barrister Oluseyi Akinwunmi (Lagos State), Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi (Ogun State), Barrister Olaleye Adepoju (Oyo State), Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi (Osun State), Otunba Dele Ajayi (Ondo State) and Dr. Isaac Ayodele (Ekiti State).
