Nana Owusu Boatey, Head of Occupational, Health and Safety at the Trade Union Congress, has noted that 85 per cent of People Living With HIV/AIDS were infected through unsafe sex. He said workers in the transport sector were very vulnerable to the disease because they spent a lot of time away from home and embarked on long distance journeys, exposed to administrative delays at the border crossing and often lacked proper accommodation and security. He also expressed worry that although trade union education on HIV and AIDS was high at the workplaces compliance was not impressive.

Kwesi Nyantakyi will be re-elected for a second four-year term.

Congress of the Ghana Football Association will today decide on whether to return Kwesi Nyantakyi as president for a second term at the Ghanaman Soccer School of Excellence.

The 43-year-old will stand unopposed after duo Neil Amstrong-Mortagbe and Vincent Sowah-Odotei were disqualified for irregularities on their nomination forms.

Nyantakyi needs a clear majority from the 123 delegates to be confirmed for a second term.

The Congress will also consider the Proposal for Amendments of Statutes of the Ghana Football Association.
