Indigenous Ghanaian coaches came under massive criticisms in the past few months following their failures to successfully handle junior national teams.
The home-based national team and the Under-23 team failed in their respective assignments this year.
The future of ex-international Frimpong Manso continue to be speculated in the local media after the Under-17 team missed qualification to the African Championships which was held in January.
Hayford, a former Under-17 team coach, remains confident of getting the results.
“There are still good coaches around and I think we’ve done it before and I can do it if I’m given the chance,” Hayford said. ”I have coached the Under-17 before and we managed to put a solid team together and so why can’t I do it all over again.”
He led the Medeama Sporting Club to finish third in the just ended Ghana Premier League.
