Sports News – Salone Duo Secure Victory for Aik

Freetown — Sierra Leone striking sensations, Mohamed Poborsky and Ibrahim Tetteh Bangura continue their scoring form in the Swedish top flight as the duo helped their AIK Solna side to victory over the weekend.

The Banguras were both on target as AIK Solna defeated defending champions, Malmö FF 2-0 in front of a capacity crowd of 16,739.

The match started promisingly as both teams showed their skills but AIK took the lead from a free-kick by Viktor Lundberg. After a little bouncing, the ball found Mohamed Bangura in the penalty area and he nicely placed it at the back of the net beyond Malmo FF goalkeeper, Johan Dahlin.

Just a minute into the second half, Ibrahim Tetteh Bangura sealed the win for AIK after teammate Milosevic sent a long ball to the Malmö penalty area, which the speedy Sierra Leone international neatly converted. Bangura reached the ball first ahead of a nervy Dusan Melicharek (who replaced goalkeeper Johan Dahlin in Malmö’s goal in the middle of the first half) and chipped it ideally off Melicharek and into the goal.

It was Tetteh Bangura’s fifth goal this term in the Swedish league whilst it was the third for Poborsky. The victory takes AIK to 5th position in the league standings with 17 points from 11 matches.

Elsewhere, Sierra Leone’s first choice goalkeeper, Christian Caulker was shown a straight red card as his relegation battle side Vasteras SK lost 1-0 to Ljungskile SK.
