Sierra Leone: Old Edwardians Face Central Parade Today

Freetown — The May Park Boys, Old Edwardians and Central Parade will clash today (Wednesday) at the National Stadium in Freetown in what could be described as a mid table battle.

Central Parade are lying ninth in the log after nine games, just a point above Old Edwardians who are settled on 9 points from eight games and could possibly overtake Parade in the league standings.

Both sides have been inconsistent this season, losing three games and recording two wins between them. But Old Edwardians coach Freaky believes the defeat they suffered to Diamond Stars will be their last this season.

He said: “You know after that defeat to Diamond Stars we made a great comeback by defeating Area Best 2-0; now we are ready to face the remaining challenge in the league, starting with Central Parade.”

Also, coach Freaky is eyeing revenge as he saw his side losing 2-0 during last season’s meeting and will want to avoid a repeat of that painful evening.

“We are going into this match mindful of what happened to us last season when we lost 2-0 to them. We must secure all three points and move above them in the table,” Freaky said but admitted it is not going to be an easy task.

On the other hand, Central Parade needs to bounce back from last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Bo Rangers in Bo, a match which they said they lost because of the wet pitch and a red card shown to one of their players.
