Thousands of children are today assembling in different parts of the country to celebrate the day of the African child. The children will also be attempt to set a world record by reading aloud from the same book. The event will see pupils from more than one hundred schools are aiming at holding the record for the most people reading out loud from the same text in different locations

Rescuers have called off rescue operations at the building that collapsed in Embakasi. They have managed to retrieve four bodies from the debris. Eight people have been rescued so far and are receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hosipital. The national disaster operations deputy director Joseph King’ori says they have cleared all the debri and found no one. Fifteen people are still missing according to families and friends.
