Lucky Mensah Endorse Prez. Mills

Highlife musician Lucky Mensah, who recently became very popular with his controversial song ‘ Nkratuo ‘, which purportedly spelt out the failures of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party headed by President John Evans Atta Mills, has allegedly made a u-turn.

He has allegedly released another song, this time endorsing the President.

The song, which is yet to be officially launched, has already started enjoying airplay on Abeiku Santana’s programme on Okay Fm , and on Peace FM .

Lucky Mensah became popular in the latter part of last year and earlier this year with his song ‘ Nkratuo’, which many interpreted as a criticism of the sitting president’s leadership style.

The new song, titled ‘ Atta Beye Amamo ‘, to wit ‘Atta will do it for you’, urged Ghanaians to have faith in the President’s ability to deliver on his ‘Better Ghana Agenda.’

The musician, in the song, believes that President Mills is already delivering on his campaign promises and that by the time the first term ends, Ghanaians will see a massive improvement in their standard of living.

The song urges Ghanaians to believe that for continuity and a better Ghana, the current President is the best and obvious choice, come 2012.

According to sources within Okay FM and Peace Fm , many music lovers are already asking for copies of the new song which they believe could possibly pass for the campaign song for the NDC, come 2012.

The development has come to many as a shock, as many are still wondering why Lucky made the u-turn.

Lucky Mensah had allegedly said in previous reports that he was prepared to do business with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and offer the party the ‘Nkratuo’ song.

‘Since one key can open many doors, if the NPP approaches me, I will be prepared to sell the song to them,’ he told Asempa FM in Accra.

At the time, the offer appeared to be a sort of defection, especially when Lucky Mensah is on record to have disclosed that campaigning for the NDC in 2008 had negatively affected his music career and source of income.

The award-winning musician, during the 2008 presidential campaign, used his ‘Come Back To Me’ track to campaign for the NDC and performed the hit song at several NDC campaign rallies, but soon after the party won power, he started complaining that his songs were not being patronized by Ghanaians.

A new song to endorse the president is however an indication that he has settled his problems with the party.

It is however not clear if the move to do business with the NPP has materialized yet.
