Kericho Day Girls handball team need of financial support to enable them travel to Italy next month for the 39th Interamnia World Cup in Teramo, Italy. The team of 18 including their coaches is expected in Italy on July 3 and return on July 11.

The school’s Principal Juliana Kirui and team coach Willy Kiprono Rop want the government and well-wishers to come to their rescue to enable them purchase air tickets to Italy. “We appeal to well wishers to assist our girls team to enable them travel to the World Cup in Italy,” said the Principal. She said a fund raising is scheduled for Saturday this week. Kirui said each participant needs Sh91,000, which translates to around 1.6 million for the 18 players who have been invited.

The players areâ-šBrenda Ariviza, Osiaga Ann Adhiambo, Getrude Rotich, Joan Achieng, Daisy Chesang, Christine Ogutu Akeyo, Juliet Akinyi, Emmaculate Akinyi, Judith Omondi, Roselyne Chemutai, Irene Chepkemoi, Linner Chepkorir, Winnie Chepngetich Sang, Maryanne Cherono and officials Francis Mutua Munyeke, Joel Nandi, Juliane Kirui and Kiprono Rop. Kericho Day were number three in the provincials after losing in the semi-finals to the eventual winners Saint Francis, Cheptarit.
