Following the gritty manner in which Nania F/C fought back twice to scuttle his team’s ambition from inching closer to making it a double whammy this season, the Chief Executive Officer of Berekum Chelsea, Nana Kwame Nketiah has poured encomiums on the Division One League side, Nania F/C, the Pride of Paga.

“Abedi Pele and colleagues did well and we congratulate them for that.

They are a good side and they played good football”, he told Happy Sports on Monday, a day after the Chelsea side was hit by the Nania shock pangs.

But notwithstanding the generous adulation on Nania F/C for qualifying for the final, Nana Nketiah heaped blame on the referee for doing his team in, especially the time he added on during extra time.

“The referee played one minute of time added on in extra time and after that he added extra four minutes during which Nania F/C had the free kick that sealed victory for Nania F/C.

Had it not been that, we would have won the game after extra time without going into penalty shootout”.

He said he had a premonition that if the match went into extra time, Chelsea would have lost and it happened.

Quite apart from blaming the referee for the extra four minutes he added to the duration of the game, Nana Nketiah also blamed his players for showing signs of complacency for which they paid dearly.

Despite blaming the referee and his players for the loss, Nana Nketiah stated, “Nania F/C deserve to be in the final. They played so well”.
