David Vaughan has said he is leaving Blackpool in order to keep his place in the Wales side.
Vaughan enjoyed a good season with Ian Holloway’s side and was voted the club’s Player of the Season as they narrowly failed to stay in the Premier League.
The Welsh midfielder played 34 times last season at Bloomfield Road and was part of a side who won many admirers for their attractive, free-flowing football.
He played in all three matches in the Home Nations Cup and in four Euro 2012 qualifiers for his country.
However, with a great deal of competition for places in midfield alongside captain Aaron Ramsey, Vaughan is hoping that playing in the top flight will help him become a regular in the Wales side.
“I enjoyed my first season in the Premier League,” he told reporters.
“It was something new to me and I enjoyed playing against some of the best players in the world and that is something I want to continue next season.
“A couple of clubs have shown an interest.”
He added: “The last 12 months I have played more regularly for Wales,” said Vaughan.
“That has been good and if I want to continue that I have to be playing as high as I can on a weekly basis.”
