The government has cautioned the public against the use of the Coat of Arms and other national symbols designed for the exclusive use of the President and his representatives.

The caution comes against the backdrop of the use of the Coat of Arms by some individuals, including some Members of Parliament (MPs).

Speaking at a press conference in Accra yesterday, a Deputy Minister of Information, Mr. Baba Jamal, said the Coat of Arms should not be seen on private cars, houses, offices, complimentary cards and others.

He said the National Anthem should also not be played at private functions and social gatherings such as funerals and weddings unless the organisers of such functions had the permission to do so. Mr. Jamal said it was the wish of the government that “we fly Ghana flags more in our cars, houses, etc”.
