Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has told Manchester City and Chelsea that it will cost at least €50 million (£44.1m) to secure Javier Pastore‘s signature.
The highly rated playmaker, who will turn 22 next week, looks set to leave Serie A this summer, with the two Premier League clubs rumoured to be interested, as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“Pastore will not leave for less than €50m,” Zamparini told Radio Radio TV. “If he leaves, it will be difficult for him to stay in Italy.
“I have requested that his agent Marcelo Simonian, who is being pursued by Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona, collate the offers.
“Over the weekend we will meet to shed some light on the player’s future.”
Pastore signed for the Sicilian club in 2009 from Huracan and was the team’s leading scorer in Serie A this season with 11 goals, while also striking up a good partnership with Fabrizio Miccoli, who could leave this summer.
Pastore is under contract with Palermo until June 2015, so it could take a bid that rivals that of Chelsea’s for Fernando Torres to secure his services.
