Mines and Energy Deputy Minister’s driver, Gono Boois was charged with negligent driving and defeating the ends of justice after crashing into a tree during the early hours of Friday.
Boois allegedly hit a tree while driving the deputy minister Willem Isaacks’ Government vehicle in Keetmanshoop’s Kronlein suburb.
Karas Police regional commander Josephat Abel said Boois left the accident scene without reporting it to the Police.
He said Boois, who was apparently alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash, came out unscathed.
