Zimbabwe will soon have a third cricket test arena after the Victoria Falls town council unanimously approved plans for a new ground near the world famous landmark.

Construction work on the new ground will begin early next year.

The new venue will be the third Test arena in the country, after Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. It will also host one day internationals and Twenty20 matches. There are expectations that the ground will have the capacity to seat more than 5,000 spectators.

The new grounds will be sited close to the gorge at Victoria Falls.
