Brown: Celebrates his goal for Celtic Related links Teams Celtic's SPL title hopes remain firmly intact after goals from Scott Brown and Kris Commons gave them a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. A shock defeat in midweek to Inverness had put pressure on Neil Lennon's side but they responded in the right manner and Brown put them ahead in first-half stoppage time with a close-range header after being set up by James Forrest. However, it was a wonderful 25-yard drive from Commons in the 68th minute which sealed the win and took the Hoops back to within one point of SPL leaders Rangers with two games remaining

Turkish giants Besiktas are understood to be set to bid for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.

Bendtner is unhappy at Arsenal as he wants regular first-team football and is apparently attracting interest from Turkey, with Besiktas reportedly weighing up a £12 million bid.

Bendtner has often been a controversial figure at Arsenal with his outspoken views and says he is 100 per cent committed to securing a move away from the Emirates this summer.

Bayern Munich have previously been linked with a move for the striker but after Besiktas missed out on Miroslav Klose, who has signed for Lazio, it is expected the Turkish club will turn their attentions to Bendtner.

The 23-year-old Denmark international still has three years left on his current contract at Arsenal, though it is believed Arsene Wenger will not stand in the player’s way if a suitable offer is received.

Arsenal are reportedly set for a summer of change with Wenger desperate to end their barren spell without a trophy, but they will have to move quickly after already missing out on transfer target Phil Jones, who looks set to move from Blackburn Rovers to Manchester United.
