Wanlawayn — At least three people have been slain and four others injured after armed bandits opened fire on civilian bus traveling in parts of Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia, witnesses said on Saturday.
The passenger bus is said to have traveled from Baidoa town and heading towards Mogadishu, the capital of war-torn Somalia.
The armed gangsters apparently intended to rob the bus and its passengers, though they failed to do so after the shooting.
The wounded passengers were immediately rushed to the hospitals in Somalia’s seaside Mogadishu for treatment.
Al shabaab has not released any comments about the incident as they control the region of Lower Shabelle regions.
