Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has told Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas there is room for him in their star-studded starting XI.

Fabregas has seen his Arsenal future come under serious doubt, with Barcelona once again trying to secure his signature and reportedly offering the Gunners £25 million plus Bojan Krkic and Thiago Alcantara to finally get their man.

Barcelona already have an array of midfield options, though Iniesta believes Fabregas can go straight into the team.

“I do not believe the possible arrival of Cesc will affect Xavi and me. I think all three of us can play in the same 11,” Iniesta said in an article in The Sun.

“It remains a matter between Barca and Arsenal. But we want Cesc to play with us. He will make us a better team, not only in Spain but also in Europe.

“It is logical that Barcelona are looking at new players, because it’s always necessary to improve the squad and win even more trophies.”

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has also been the subject of speculation over his future in recent times, and it has been reported that he will leave the Catalan giants once his contract expires next season – though Iniesta has urged him not to leave.

“Coaching continuity is the key to guaranteed success.

“Guardiola is key to this team. He is essential.

“I hope next year will not be his last.

“We all feel that with him things become that much easier.”
