The Tema Community 1 Police have confirmed that, the young man who was crushed by a machine he was working with in the early hours of Friday, has died.
20 year old Daniel Avenorpe an employee of Delta Agro Limited, a soap making company based in Tema was pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital in Accra.
The man was said to have attempted to remove a foreign material that had mixed with a soap being processed, but the machine pulled him into the mixture crushing his left arm.
Tema Community 1 Police Commander, Superintendent Kwaku Buah had earlier dismissed reports that the man had been crushed to death.
Superintendent Buah said the Police were in discussions with the management of the company to ascertain the cause of this unfortunate accident.
Meanwhile Production Manager of Delta Agro Limited, Fahed Sabra has told Adom News that the accident was as a result of the victims negligent and refusal to obey safety instructions in handling the mixture machine.
He stated that the company will reach the family of the victim to pay the necessary compensation and insurance due to them.
