Galka’yo — One of the soldiers of Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Puntland on Friday shot and killed civilian man at the center of Galk’ayo town in Mudug region in central Somalia.
Local residents confirmed that the murdered man was a businessman, who is known in the town.
The shooting is said to have come after the businessman turned a deaf ear to pay tax.
After the murder, the Puntland soldier escaped from scene without capture, according to witnesses.
The Puntland authorities have not released any comments about the shooting committed by a soldier of theirs.
