Lubango — The parliamentary leader of the opposition FNLA party, Ngola Kabango said on Thursday in Luanda that Angola has material, political and human resources conditions to host the future headquarters of the parliament of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).
The establishment of SADC parliament will be approved during the holding of its 29th Plenary Assembly Parliamentary Forum, happening in Lubango, in the southern Huíla province.
The MP said so to Angop at Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport.
Ngola Kabango said that this intention will only be materialised with a strong Angolan diplomacy.
The politician considered as very important the holding of the forum as it will allow exchange of ideas and information about the region, as well as assessing the continent’s current situation regarding the political and economic matters.
The 29th Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum is being attended by 120 delegates from 11 of the 14 member states of the community.
The SADC Parliamentary Forum was established on September 8, 1997, during the Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government, held in Windhoek, Namibia.
SADC comprises Angola, South Africa, Botswana, DR Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
