Japanese midfield man Keisuke Honda has admitted his frustration at current club CSKA Moscow, with both Liverpool and Arsenal linked with a move for the 24-year-old.
Whilst neither club has moved to confirm its interest in the player, Honda has made his grievances at his current situation clear, with a move away from Russia likely in the summer.
Speaking to Japan’s Nikkan Sports newspaper, Honda said: “It’s agonising – I can’t stay like this.
“I said I wanted Japan to win the World Cup bid. I was MVP at the Asian Cup in January but I’m still not happy with things.
“Right now I’m in a rut still being at CSKA. This wasn’t what I planned.
“If I don’t accept it, I can’t live my life. But if I get too used to my circumstances I’ll come to a halt – that scares me.”
The Japan international has made 29 appearances for his country, scoring 7 goals since his debut in 2008, whilst he has bagged six in 34 games following his move to Moscow from VVV Venlo in 2010.
