In the just-concluded general elections in Cross River State, the Action Congress of Nigeria and other opposition parties put up a spirited fight to out stage the Peoples Democratic Party, but the outcome showed that more should be done in future elections, writes MUDIAGA AFFE The only seat won by an opposition party in the just concluded general elections in Cross River State is that of Obubra 1 Constituency in the state House of Assembly. Winner of the election, Mr. Alex Irek, of the Action Congress of Nigeria did not fail to bare his mind on the bumpy road to winning the lone seat.

Here’s your first official trailer below at Kimberly Elise in Ghanaian/American director Leila Djansi’s Ties That Bind, which reportedly recently completed principal photography (it was shot on location in Ghana, by the way).

Elise stars alongside Nollywood star Omotola Jalade and Ghanaian actress Ama K Abebrese, in what is said to be a multi-million production, which director Leila describes as her biggest project yet.

Ties That Bind “tells the story of 3 women from different walks of life, bound together by a similar pain; the loss of a child. In a destined meeting, in a small village, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers.”

Also starring are Randal Batinkoff (Kick-Ass) and Ebbe Bassey, who has co-starred in 2 short films for Shadow And Act Filmmaker Challenge winner, Nikyatu Jusu (African Booty Scratcher and Say Grace Before Drowning).

Glad to see Kimberly Elise crossing borders to, in the spirit of Pan Africanism, work on a non-American/African project.
