A broken arm and then tendonitis restricted Gordon to just 15 first-team appearances during the 2010-11 season, but the 28-year-old is positive about being ready to play before too long. “It's been a frustrating season for me, ever since I started the season by breaking my arm again in training,” the Scotland international told the club’s official website .

After an extraordinary two-year rise from non-league football to the Premier League, Norwich new boy Steve Morison is ready to test himself on the big stage.

The 27-year-old striker was poached from Stevenage by then League One side Milwall two summers ago and now, after scoring 40 goals in all competitions for the Lions and narrowly missing out on the Championship playoffs, he has become Paul Lambert’s second summer signing at Carrow Road.

Speaking to skysports.com, Morison said of his incredible progress: “Obviously, it is exciting times for me and I didn’t expect to get to that level in such a short space of time.

“But that is how it has panned out and I’m just really looking forward to it now.”

Morison seemed modest about testing himself on the next rung of the ladder.

“It is going to be very tough making the step up from the Championship and I won’t know how big the gap is until I’m doing it week in, week out,” he said.

“I’ve had the chance to have a look at them and see how good some of them are whilst playing for Wales and training alongside some of the Premier League regulars has given me a taste of what is to come next season.

“It is something that you aspire to do and playing against some of the best players in the world can only bring out the best in yourself.”

Morison made his debut for Wales in August 2010, and has so far accrued seven caps, although he is yet to score for his country.

The London-born striker will provide competition for an already-prolific strikeforce at Carrow Road. Spearheaded by club captain Grant Holt, Norwich’s forward line have scored 95 goals in the past two seasons during their own meteoric ascension up the ranks of English football.

And the forward admits his first task is to secure his place in the first-team.

“First and foremost, I need to work my way into the team, which is going to be a hard task in itself because they’ve got players that have earned the right to play for the club already.

“I want to be a part of that and it is up to me to work as hard as I can and force my way into the team.

“There is obviously going to be pressure when playing in the top flight, but I tend to put more pressure on myself to perform.”

Morison joins former Everton youngster James Vaughan as another summer addition to the Canaries’ attack.
