Inhabitants of Defere Express Satisfaction With Access to Potable Water

Shabait.com (Asmara) 7 June 2011 As part of the ongoing endeavors to ensure equitable access to services, commendable results have been attained in Hagaz sub-zone as a result of village grouping. The inhabitants of the area told ERINA that they been relieved of pastoral and nomadic way of life and are now leading a stable and better lifestyle thanks to the regrouping of villages in one community.

The inhabitants of Defere, Serejaka sub-zone, and expressed satisfaction for getting access to reliable potable water supply.

They told ERINA that previously they used to drink water from streams along with their cattle. At present, however, they are relieved of water-borne diseases thanks to the implementation of potable water supply project by the Government.

The modern project involves a well and 4 water distribution stations.
