Amadou Jawo’s transfer saga could take another twist after Pa Dembo’s Djurgardens confirmed its interest on the Gambian starlet.
Jawo is touted to be heading to Gefle last weekend but the club will not be dishing out to sign the attacker for fear of stretching its coffers limit.
With Gefle already stepping aside in the bidding, a reunion with Brother Omar Jawo is very much on the cards but Pa Dembo and Kebba Ceesay’s Djurgardens will likely still the show after they officially confirmed their interest.
Jawo is has fallen in coach Magnus’s pecking order making limited appearances since the start of the league, but should the 1.75m striker consider moving away, he would not be short of suitors as Syriac, Gefle and Djurgarden line-up to secure his service.
Djurgardens are known admirer of the former Vallentuna BK goal-poacher but will face a stiff competition with Syriac over Jawo’s signing.
“We are obviously [tracking] his situation” Said Pa Dembo’s manager Magnus on Amadou Jawo’s situation at Elfsborg.
“Well, actually I have no reason to comment on something. I have a principle not to comment until something concrete is done. But yes, of course, we know about his situation and Djurgarden are following him in Elfsborg [his current club]” he added.
