Luanda — The vice-minister of Home Affairs, Ângelo da Veiga, Tuesday said that he believes in the qualification of the Angolan national football team for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2012, scheduled to take place simultaneously in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, despite some difficulties still lying ahead.

The vice minister said so while reacting to the Sunday 1-0 victory of the national squad “Palancas Negras” over the Kenyan counterpart in Luanda’s “11 de Novembro” Stadium in the match of fourth round of group J for qualification of CAN2012

The official told Angop that the Angolan players have the capacity to defeat the future opponents.

“What we have witnessed at Angola/Kenya match, despite low scores, we can conclude that the team is building a strong competitive structure. These and other factors make us believe we can win the opponents”, underlined the vice minister of Interior, who also praised the Angolan coach Lito Vidigal on the organisation and structuring work of the team.
