QPR‘s manager Neil Warnock has spoken out against his critics, claiming that despite recent calls for a replacement and the departure of noted ally and board member Amit Bhatia, he feels his position at the club is safe.

In recent weeks, a handful of high-profile managers have been linked to the club, with Marcello Lippi and Clauio Ranieri headlining the list. However, Warnock and club co-owner Flavio Briatore have insisted that this is just ‘rumour’ and there will be no changes made.

The popular 62-year-old, has stated his desire to remain at Loftus Road, yet understands the ‘pressure’ that managers in the Premier League have to deal with on a regular basis.

Warnock stated: “Every manager is under pressure if they don’t get results.

“There have been one or two naughty things that have been brought out for whatever reason. Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore have told me right from day one, especially when Amit Bhatia left the board a couple of weeks ago, that they had no intention of bringing anyone else in.”

However, the R’s manager remained realistic, when discussing the possiblilities of being sacked next season if results do not go the clubs way.

He said: “I am sure if I lost six or seven games, then there would be a few more names mentioned who were in for my position but that is the job we are in.”

Warnock is proud his team’s accomplishments, having taken the club from the relegation zone to winners of the Championship in a span of 18 months.

“I am enjoying every minute, and why shouldn’t I? I won the Championship last year in probably the most difficult job I have ever done. In the space of 10 months I created a completely new team and it is great to have a Championship winner’s medal.”

This is not the first time Warnock has helped in the promotion of a Championship side to the top flight, with his 2006 stint at Sheffield United.
