Windhoek — The 4th round of the Bank Windhoek Namibian National Enduro Series gets underway at Aranos on Saturday.
The customary route has been changed for this year and spectators can enjoy the action from various viewpoints. A ‘Farmer’s class’ was introduced to promote this sport and to add to the excitement.
National classes will complete four laps of the 45-kilometer course, while the support classes will have to cover three rounds. During this race, riders will wear black armbands in memory of Conrad Brown, who passed away during the previous event at Uis.
“Bank Windhoek appreciates the hard work of the organizers. By taking the Enduro races to different regions in Namibia, the local population is exposed to this sport code and the riders can test their skills in various surroundings and terrains. We wish the organisers and the riders all the best and an unforgettable race,” said Riaan van Rooyen, Head: Corporate Communication and Social Investment at Bank Windhoek.
“We thank Bank Windhoek and the Aranos Farmers Association for supporting Enduro riding. The riders and their machines will be tested on the rough tracks. Saturday’s race starts at 07h00 with documentation and technical inspection for local entrants.
Refreshments will be on sale at the track during the day and the public is invited to attend this exciting event,” said Kai Hennes of the Namibia Enduro Club.
The race will start on the premises of the Aranos Farmers’ Association, situated outside Aranos. To get there, turn right opposite the Aranos Hotel and drive on a gravel road for about one kilometer, then turn left onto the premises of the farmers’ union.
