SM Caen striker Youssef El Arabi has admitted he would jump at the opportunity of joining a Premier League club this summer.
The Moroccan impressed last season in Ligue 1 and has found himself linked with a move to Stoke City and Wolves.
“I am flattered by the different reports in the papers linking me with clubs in Europe, I did have a gentleman’s agreement with the club to go this summer, but to be honest it depends on the club,” El Arabi told skysports.com.
“I am an ambitious player and want to play week in, week out in a top league and test myself against the top defenders in world.
“If an offer came for me from a good team and my club get what they want, I will be off, I love the Premier League.”
The 24-year-old admits he has heard reports of Stoke boss Tony Pulis watching him adding: “Stoke City? I heard their manager watched me but that was through a newspaper, nothing else.”
El Arabi’s hopes of a move across the border appeared to have been heightened after Stoke chairman Peter Coates confirmed the club are looking abroad for potential signings.
“We are looking everywhere to see what players are about and are available,” he told the Stoke Sentinel.
“We are certainly not closed from bringing anyone in from abroad.”
