Minna-Nine persons including a Sharia court judge have been sacked by the Niger State Government over alleged corruption.

According to sources, the judge was dismissed along with three other civil servants while three others were compulsorily retired after they were caught for allegedly collecting salaries from different employers other than the state civil service.

Chief Judge of the state, Justice Jubrin Ndajiwo, said this in Minna, added that the erring staff were made to refund N665,000 which had been remitted to the state treasury. He said they might be prosecuted.

Justice Ndajiwo, who stressed that the judiciary as the last hope of the common man should not be seen as an institution of corrupt officers and warned that any staff caught in any shaddy deal will be exposed and dealt with according to the law.

He said the judiciary was flooded with complaints against the affected staff, thus the setting up of an internal  probe that found them guilty.
