Firebrand Member of Parliament for the Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has descended heavily on former President Rawlings on his recent comments at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi where he described former members of the New Patriotic Party NPP administration as thieves. At the 32nd commemoration of the June 4 uprising, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings alleged that the NPP administration in its 8-year rule plundered state resources, amassed wealth and killed many innocent Ghanaians to perpetuate their rule

New Fulham manager Martin Jol has confirmed he has held talks over bringing in quality additions to join the squad he inherited from Mark Hughes.

The Dutchman took over the reigns at Craven Cottage earlier today and he has confirmed he has already held discussions over brining fresh talent into the club.

“There are a few players here I still know from my time at Tottenham, like Simon Davies, Danny Murphy and Stephen Kelly – they are all very good professionals,” Jol said.

“I enjoy watching Fulham and I enjoy watching players like Moussa Dembele, who I have known for a while.

“Yesterday we had a good conversation about players and where we can try to strengthen and get one or two quality players.”

The London club have been linked with a big-money move for Espanyol striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and it looks as though owner Mohamed Al Fayed is willing to invest into the team.

Jol almost took over the managerial reigns at Fulham last summer only to be blocked by Ajax and the 55-year-old is excited to have finally returned to the English game after a spell in charge of Tottenham.

“I am very happy to be back and especially at a club like Fulham,” he added.

“I remember coming here with Tottenham and I even think I played here when I was a player. Craven Cottage is a real football stadium, I loved going to Fulham.

“I could have gone to other countries, but I was waiting for the opportunity to come back to England.”
