May 02, 2011 Cape Coast, May 2, GNA – The Central Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Ato Amoah, has called for calm within the party. “We the youth in the Central Region appeal to all members of the party engulfed in the impasse to bury the hatchet for peace to prevail,” Mr Amoah pleaded. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Cape Coast at the weekend, Mr Amoah said the youth were disturbed about the recent events in NDC and urged those involved to do what was right in order not to destroy the party, which is a legacy for the youth.

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is optimistic the depleted Black Stars can defy the odds and win Tuesday’s international friendly against South Korea.

The Black Stars are without six key players for the friendly with goalkeeper Richard Kingson, defender John Pantsil and Sunderland ace Asamoah Gyan the only notable senior players in the team.

Captain John Mensah, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Andre Ayew, Samuel Inkoom, Michael Essien and Sammy Adjei will miss the action due to injuries and other engagements.

But the Ghana FA capo insists the game against the Asian giants will afford players on the fringes the opportunity to impress Serbian trainer Goran Stevanovic.

“Games likes these are always an opportunity for others to  showcase what they can offer when given the chance to play in the first team and so I’m positive the absence of those key players won’t affect the team at all,” Nyantakyi said.
