The Daily Observer (Banjul) Sanna Jawara and Fatou Jallow 17 May 2011 As part of series of ongoing activities meant to boost investment in The Gambia, the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (GIEPA) and the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Monday held a one-day briefing for members of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) at the Sheraton Hotel. The 10-member MAN delegation is in the country on an investment mission with the theme "Harnessing Investment Opportunities in The Gambia".

BENIN – THE 5th session of the Edo State House of Assembly was, yesterday, in Benin proclaimed with the election Mr. Uyigue Igbe, representing Oredo West constituency, as the new Speaker.

His election was unanimous during the inaugural sitting.

Edo State Governor, Mr Adams Oshiomhole had in a letter to the Clerk of the House, proclaimed the Assembly as required under the 1999  constitution.

Mr. Patrick Osayimen, representing Oredo East constituency moved the motion for the nomination of  Igbe and  seconded by Mr. Johnson Oghuma representing Etsako Central constituency.
