Asmara — Eritrean nationals residing in Geneva, Switzerland, celebrated the 20th anniversary of Independence Day in patriotic spirit under the theme “Perfect Harmony for National Dignity.” In the celebrations in which a number of nationals and foreign friends of Eritrea took part, various cultural and sports programs featured.

In briefings he gave to the participants on the objective situation in the Homeland and development programs, the Head of Organizational Affairs at the PFDJ, Mr. Abdalla Jabir, outlined in detail the tasks accomplished over the past 20 years as regards national reconstruction and achieving food security through the coordinated endeavors of the people and the Government.

In a related report, Ms. Hikmu Seid Mohammed-Nur, a national who lives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributed 10,000 Nakfa in expression of her satisfaction with the colorful Independence Day celebrations, according to the National Holidays Coordinating Committee. She made the contribution as a token of her deep impression with the decoration of streets with neon lights and the colorful celebrations.

The National Holidays Coordinating Committee expressed appreciation to the national for taking such an initiative.
