Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has hailed his young striker Danny Ward who impressed while on loan at Huddersfield Town at the end of this season.

The youngster spent the last two months of the season on loan at Huddersfield and starred for them in their run to the League One Playoff final.

Coyle believes that player could play a big role in the team in the coming seasons especially given the fact that Johan Elmander has left to join Galatasaray and Danny Sturridge has returned to Chelsea after his loan spell.

“I’ve been delighted with his level of performances at Huddersfield,” The Totters boss told reporters.

“He is a terrific young player who is only going to get better.”

Bolton currently have a dearth of talent up front with only Kevin Davies, Ivan Klasnic and Robbie Blake in their squad so Ward could be thrust into first team action sooner than had been expected.

While on loan at Huddersfield he scored four goals in his 10 first team appearances and he also scored in the penalty shootout in the League One playoff semi-final victory over Bournemouth.
