Luanda — The Australian authorities are interested in strengthening the co-operation with member states of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).

This was said to Angop on Friday in Luanda by the special envoy of the prime minister and chief of the Australian government for CPLP’s member states issues, Neil Mules.

Neil Mules said that the Australian authorities are interested in boosting and diversifying the co-operation with the member countries of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community.

The diplomat said that the intention of the Australian government was received well by Angola.

He said that Australia is working with the Executive Secretariat of CPLP in order to explore and find ways so as to boost co-operation and overcome the hurdles of the language and culture of the respective peoples.

Neil Mules said that Australia played a very important role in the indepedence of East Timor and this CPLP country is repected in the world.

Thus, the special envoy is visiting the member states of the African Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP).
