Charles Nyende 4 June 2011 Can the Harambee Stars do the improbable and win their first African Cup of Nations qualifying tie away from home in almost a decade? The team's day of reckoning is on Sunday from 6 pm (Kenyan time) when they face home side Palancas Negras in a Group "J" match at the 50,000 capacity Estadio 11 de Novembro. The National senior men’s football team, Super Eagles will depart for Addis Ababa on Saturday evening for Sunday’s 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Walias Antelopes of Ethiopia.

With six points from three previous games, the Nigeria team is second in its group behind Guinea, with seven points. But after annihilating world power Argentina 4-1 in an international friendly at the National Stadium, Abuja on Wednesday, the Eagles are not lacking confidence and go-go spirit.

The 118-seater Boeing 737-300 belonging to Air Nigeria airline will take off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Abuja at 7pm, to arrive in Addis Ababa at 2am on Sunday, Ethiopia time.

Sunday’s match will start at 4pm (2pm Nigeria time) at the National Stadium, Addis with the Eagles knowing they must pick all three points to remain in good contention for a place at the African Cup of Nations finals to be staged in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea early next year.
