A UGANDAN witchdoctor yesterday stunned Ang’urai village in Teso North district when he traced a stolen cow found tethered in a bush. The pregnant cow was stolen from Kwapa, Tororo County in Uganda, 40 kilometers away. The desperate owner sought help from the Teso witchdoctor in Uganda who traced the cows path all the while holding a loft a magic wand his hand. He led the Ugandan owner to a thicket near Angurai chief’s camp where they cow had been hidden.
They tried in vain to trace chief Zachary Olekete before untying the animal and driving it back to Uganda. Famous Malaba herbalist Duncan Omoding said the incident confirmed the power magicians is real.
ODM Teso North chairman Peter Ipara and youth leader Jared Omili praised the role traditional healers and appealed to the police to involve them in their investigations.
Ipara criticised the chief for refusing to meet the Ugandan contingent. But chief Olekete denied the claims saying he had attended a funeral. Olekete told villagers to stop stealing and instead work on their farms or business to earn a decent living.
