Firm seeks support for health insurance scheme

STAKEHOLDERS have called for support for the nation’s health insurance scheme.

The stakeholders, at a one-day forum organised by the United Healthcare International Limited, stressed the imperativeness of the scheme.

The event, which is the first of a two-series yearly programme, was declared open by the company’s General Manager, Dr. Segun Odujebe, attended by several experts, including Simeon Sanni, head of Accreditation & Inspectorate Department, who represented the executive secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

Speaking, Odujebe appealed to the participants to be patience and continue to support the scheme while thanking them for being part of the event as he looks forward to seeing them in the next edition.

Speakers, including Dr. Ayodeji Dada, Ijeoma Elebuike and V. O Taiwo presented papers on varying and topical issues bordering on wellness, others.

United Health-Care International Limited is a limited liability company incorporated in January 2000 with a current clientele of over 1,000,000 as a national health maintenance organisation to function both as a private health insurance company in the formal and informal sector social health insurance programme administered by the NHIS.

It is one of the largest operators of health insurance in Nigeria and currently the HMO to several public and private organisations, including the State House and Presidency, federal ministries and parastatals, as well as, banks, some security agencies and international donor projects in the country.
