Lubango — The Angola Bar Association (OAA) will set up its first Inter-provincial Practising Council, an organ intended to gather the professionals from the southern provinces of Huila, Namibe and Cunene, with headquarters in Lubango.
The information is contained in a press release that reached Angop on Thursday in Huila province’s capital city, Lubango.
According to the source, the OAA will set up the council and hold elections, in line with its statutes.
The note adds that the council will be the first such an organ for which an election will be held on July 9 this year, with an electoral campaign opening June 25.
Meanwhile, according to a schedule approved by the OAA National Electoral Commission, an evaluation of candidatures will take place from June 10-12.
The OAA has currently two functioning provincial councils in Luanda and central Benguela province, with offices in northern Cabinda, central Huambo and southern Huila provinces.
