Kuito — The National Police have seized a total of 62 firearms over the last five months this year in the locality of Mutumbo, Chitembo district, central Bié province.

The information was released Tuesday in the province’s capital city, Kuito, by Bie’s police acting commander, sub-commissioner Filomeno Araújo, who accompanied the provincial governor, Álvaro Manuel de Boavida Neto, in his visit to that locality.

The seizure was part of the ongoing nationwide operation of disarming of civilians in illegal possession of firearms.
