Napoli‘s interest in Tottenham’s Wilson Palacios has been confirmed – just hours after the 26-year-old midfielder said his future at the north London outfit was unclear.

Azzurri director of sport Riccardo Bigon has revealed their interest in Palacios, who has lost his place in the starting XI at White Hart Lane.

“In seven to 10 days we are expecting a response because we are very interested in Palacios,” Bigon told Diez. “I have not spoken with him, but I have had meetings with his agent.

“The negotiation is difficult because the English team want a lot of money and they want to sell him.”

The Partenopei are seeking to strengthen their midfield after qualifying for the Champions League.
