William Gallas ‘certain’ Tottenham can win trophies but warns team-mates they need to be ‘relentless’

Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas has high hopes for the 2011-2012 campaign and has set his sights on bringing a trophy to White Hart Lane.

The 33-year-old moved to the club on a free transfer last summer, and the former Arsenal man, who made 36 appearances for Spurs and penned a new contract with the north London club in March, is already looking to a successful second season.

“This team can do a lot of things,” he told Hotspur Magazine. “This team can win a trophy, I’m certain of that, but we have to learn from our experiences.”

Citing consistency as one of the main areas the club needs to work on, Gallas reiterated: “If we want to be champions, if we want to qualify for the Champions League, if we want to win the Premier League then we have to be relentless.”

After a failing to qualify for the Champions League this campaign, Gallas said Redknapp’s men must be “prepared to suffer – but just make sure you get the three points”.
