The Leader of Opposition Nandala Mafabi has released the list of the 9th Parliament Shadow Cabinet members who will put forward alternative policies, this Thursday afternoon.
“We have appointed competent people who will be able to scrutinize government policies and programmes,” Mr Mafabi said. “We want to make sure that government deals with the needs of the people and that’s why we have come up with this team of Shadow ministers.
Mafabi, who was flanked by Sam Njuba and Ekanya, released the list at 3:30pm at the FDC Headquarters at Najjanankumbi, a Kampala suburb. The FDC retained a lion’s share of the shadow cabinet. Although there were new faces, majority of the opposition MPs in the previous cabinet have bounced back.
Mr Mafabi warned that whoever will fail to work will be fired and asked the new ministers to be accountable and transparent at all times. “Our people are very clean and beyond reproach. It’s not a rubber stamp cabinet and we are ready to work.
There is no time to be lost and these ministers must embark on the work immediately. “
