Ghanaian defender Jerry Akaminko has joined Turkish top-flight side Manisaspor, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 23-year-old landed the lucrative deal after excelling in the country’s second tier league last season.
Akaminko, a former Ghana youth international, passed a thorough medical check-up before he was handed the deal.
He signed a three-year deal ending his three-year stay with Orduspor – a side he helped to move to the top-flight league last week.
Akaminko joined Orduspor in 2008 from Heart of Lions on a two-year deal after being voted the best defender in the Ghanaian top flight.
He had an unsuccessful trial stint with Portuguese giants Benfica before he moved to Turkey.
Akaminko’s latest deal to the Turkish top-flight will give him the chance to show his prowess to Ghana’s coach Goran Stevanovic.
