Luanda — At least 9,400 jobs will be generated in Viana Special Economic Zone (ZEE) in Luanda, which was officially opened on Friday by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Angop has learnt.
According to figures of the State-owned Oil Company (Sonangol), which manages ZEE, the recruited employees are mostly Angolan young people.
Created in 2005 in an area of 8,300 hectares, this ZEE was projected for 73 factories; eight of which are already operating and inaugurated on Friday by José Eduardo dos Santos.
The unveiled factories include the vehicles assembly line, construction materials, plastics, agricultural irrigation, as well as optical fibre.
Speaking in the act, the President of the Republic said that it is important to start working in two directions, in order to take advantage of the local industrial power.
