Police in Nalerigu have mounted a search for a student of the University of Development Studies (UDS), Kennedy Amoako, for stabbing a fellow student, Simon Akubli to death at Sekwagu near Gambaga in the East Mamprusi District.
Although information was sketchy, an eyewitness who is also a student of UDS, and wants to remain anonymous told Adom News that the two, Kennedy and Simon are both Level 200 students of the University who were undertaking their community service in the town.
He said Kennedy and Simon had a heated argument on Sunday while playing a computer game and were calmed down by other students after which they all went to bed.
But the argument started again on Monday morning when Simon reportedly confronted Kennedy and encouraged by colleagues on both sides, the two started fighting during which Kennedy stabbed Simon twice in the chest with a sharp object he picked up.
He run away from the scene while the others phoned the Nalerigu police who rushed the unconscious and badly bleeding student to the Tamale Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body has been sent to the Tamale Teaching hospital mortuary for autopsy.
